Beenius replaces incumbent middleware at Unitel in Mongolia

Successful Replacement At UNITEL, The Biggest Mongolian IPTV Provider

LJUBLJANA — Beenius and UNITEL Corporation LLC successfully complete the replacement of the former middleware vendor with the Beenius Unified TV Platform.

With Beenius, provider of a highly advanced Unified TV platform, the Mongolian company UNITEL Corporation LLC, the leading provider of fixed and mobile telecommunications services in Mongolia, has expanded its offer with a new Beenius IPTV solution. UNITEL could not find common ground with the previous predominant middleware vendor, so it decided on Beenius and its Unified TV platform version 4.2.

Beenius implemented successful migration to the Beenius solution, the integration of Edgeware for VOD, and concluded the integration on Zyxel STBs, which UNITEL customers are using today. Since embarking on cooperation with Beenius, Unitel has grown from a challenger to the main IPTV provider in the country. UNITEL leverages Beenius advertising features, which enable the promotion of the operator’s and third party services and products. During its period of cooperation with Beenius, Unitel has increased Univision’s ARPU by 5%.

UNITEL recognizes that competition in the IPTV segment is strong, and that is why its offer is enhanced with a selection of the best VODs. It offers VOD selection in different variants – e.g., the same movie at different levels of quality or in different audio languages. By means of multiple movie variants, the operator is able to charge differently for different variants of the same movie. Furthermore, the “most watched” and “recommended” VOD features provide customers relevant content at the push of a button, which has resulted in growth in VOD consumption, which currently stands at three VOD purchases per subscriber per month.
