LONDON and Atlanta — Encompass Digital Media, a global technology services company delivering end-to-end video playout and distribution solutions to broadcast and digital media companies, today announced that Scripps Networks International has selected Encompass CloudVOD, a cloud-based video-on-demand service, as its exclusive solution for delivering VOD content to the EMEA region. CloudVOD is powered by Microsoft Azure and uses powerful automation and orchestration engines to manage Scripps’ VOD workflow including the delivery of assets to the largest VOD platform footprint in EMEA.

Encompass’ CloudVOD solution integrates a number of Azure PaaS and IaaS services. PaaS services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure App Service, premium transcoder and file shares support content transformation, data and metadata persistence, content ingestion and archive, client-facing applications and shared working storge. Azure IaaS services such as Azure Blob storage, virtual machines, file shares and virtual network/network security groups host both Windows and Linux OS, provide shared working storage and ensure secure connectivity and separation of client instances.
