WeTek announces partnership for new streaming service in anticipation of Web Summit
- WeTek’s CEO is one of the selected speakers for the Growth Summit conference
WeTek, a company focused on designing set-top boxes and video distribution solutions, will be present at the next Web Summit in Lisbon, Portugal, where it will unveil PlayTimeTV, a new streaming service for children developed in partnership with the Portuguese content provider TV4You.
The new service, based on WeTek’s OVP platform – WeCast, offers a wide range of children’s content such as animated movies and tv shows. It will be available via web-browser, smartphone, and tablet.
In the wake of becoming the first Portuguese company to be certified by Google for developing set-top boxes powered by Android TV™, WeTek becomes one of the one hundred companies selected for the START program which will expose some of the most exciting and fastest growing start-ups around the world on Web Summit’s stage.
For Hugo Condesa, WeTek CEO and speaker on the Growth Summit conference, the company’s presence in this event is “a unique opportunity to show how WeTek has grown since last year.” Furthermore, Hugo Condesa, also states that it is “an exciting opportunity for showcasing made in Portugal innovation to a broader audience whether it is tv hardware, video distribution platforms or IoT solutions.”
Web Summit 2017 is taking place in the FIL and Altice Arena (formerly known as MEO Arena) in Lisbon, Portugal from the 6th to 9th November.
