Microtune’s Products Will Be on Display in Booth 537 at The Cable Show in New Orleans, May 18-20, 2008; Microtune Will Showcase Sophisticated Tuner Technologies That Enable DOCSIS® 3.0, VoIP Telephony, In-Home Networking and Tru2Way™ Set-Tops

PLANO, Texas — Next week at The Cable Show, Microtune®, Inc. (NASDAQ:TUNE) will showcase state-of-the-art broadband TV tuners that are fueling cable television’s evolution to next-generation all-digital entertainment and telecommunications. Microtune will display its sophisticated silicon tuner technology that enables the most compelling and competitive service offerings, including DOCSIS® 3.0 ultra-high speed data, high-definition (HD) and on-demand video programming, time-shifted video capability, VoIP telephony, in-home networking and Tru2way™ functionality.

Microtune is the leading radio frequency (RF) supplier to the cable industry’s premier equipment manufacturers.

DOCSIS 3.0 Technology, Consumer Products and Demonstration

The Cable Show, the largest convention for cable and telecommunications in the United States, will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, May 18-20, 2008. Microtune’s products, which include tuners, upconverters and amplifiers, will be on display in its booth, number 537.

A live demonstration of Microtune’s DOCSIS 3.0 tuner, the first in the industry, will be featured in Microtune’s booth. This wideband tuner (the MicroTuner™ MT2170) was deployed in every DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem that received certification last week (Certification Wave 58) in the industry’s first DOCSIS 3.0 qualification. Microtune will also display certified DOCSIS 3.0 cable modems from a variety of industry-leading manufacturers.

Booth To Showcase Variety of Cable Tuners and Consumer Premises Equipment

Microtune will also showcase a range of other RF solutions for consumer premise equipment (for both the U.S. and international markets), as well as tuners deployed in the end-products of industry-leading customers. Included will be:

  • Microtune’s newest tuner (MT2068), a multi-standard low power tuner for VoIP cable modems,
  • SCTE-40 compliant tuners that meet RNG specification requirements,
  • Cable tuners that are compatible with the MoCA™ Home Networking Standard (MT2122 and MT2022),
  • Cable tuners that support DVB-C standards, and
  • High-performance tuners and low-power tuners supporting digital TV standards.
