Lincoln County Telephone System selects Alcatel-Lucent's triple play service delivery architecture for customers in Lincoln County, Nevada and new town of Coyote Springs

MURRAY HILL, N.J. — Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced that Lincoln County Telephone System (LCTS), an independent carrier in Pioche, Nevada, will deploy Alcatel-Lucent’s Triple Play Service Delivery Architecture (TPSDA), the next- generation blueprint for triple play infrastructure. The solution, which includes Alcatel-Lucent’s industry-leading fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) gigabit passive optical networking (GPON) and service routing technologies, will enable Lincoln County to offer advanced services, including high-speed data, voice, video and security services, to its customers in Lincoln County, Nevada and in the new town of Coyote Springs, Nevada.

LCTS also will launch the Alcatel-Lucent FTTH GPON solution in Coyote Springs. Leasing capacity from LCTS, Coyote Broadband will provide Internet, video and data services to all residential and commercial customers in Coyote Springs. Coyote Springs, a new community under development 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas, spanning both Clark County and Lincoln County, was founded by Harvey Whittemore, a native Nevadan, real estate developer and attorney. Whittemore’s Coyote Springs Land Development Corporation is developing golf resorts and commercial products, while Pardee Homes is the master residential developer. Klif Andrews, president of Pardee’s Southern Nevada Division, describes Coyote Springs as a “technologically advanced town that will offer a modern Western lifestyle.”

As part of the TPSDA solution, LCTS will deploy a broadband access solution based on the Alcatel-Lucent 7342 ISAM FTTU, a robust Full Service Access Network (FSAN) standards-compliant solution and the Alcatel-Lucent 5526 Access Management System for element management. LCTS will also deploy Alcatel-Lucent’s IP/MPLS infrastructure including the 7750 Service Router, 7450 Ethernet Service Switch, 5620 Service Aware Manager, and 5750 Subscriber Service Controller. Alcatel-Lucent will provide professional engineering services to support the launch of the new LCTS system.
