TV5MONDE selects Wiztivi to further its reach for linear TV with Smart TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire Stick and STB

PARIS, France — TV5MONDE adapts to new uses and media for the consumption of video in Europe. To support them in their project, the company chose WIZTIVI to further its accessibility to its linear content by offering a new distribution platform with an optimized experience on new distribution channels.

TV5MONDE decided to call on Wiztivi for the development, maintenance and supervision of a multilingual OTT app allowing its audience to access a linear channel in HD with subtitles.

The app is currently available on Samsung Smart TV, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV (in certain territories only*). Further developments are to be made in 2021, including via set-top boxes of Pay TV operators.

TimelessUI Universe, the answer to technical challenges

Thanks to TimelessUI Universe, Wiztivi’s flagship user interface product, TV5MONDE is able to offer access to the European channel in HD, with five subtitles (French, English, Spanish, German, Romanian), replay and on-demand kids’ content under the brand TiVi5monde+. An Arabic version for the Middle East is under discussion too.

As usage evolve, TV5MONDE thus strengthens accessibility to content through new distribution channels where a new audience can be found, and enhances the user experience by increasing the variety of content available in one place.
