ocilion P500 4K series

ocilion has developed and launched its fifth genera-tion set-top boxes. The homogeneous P500 family builds on the P400 series, which received the Red Dot Award, containing a new chipset and further optimisations for an even better performance. All five models are equipped with the latest MediaTek 5251 chip, support 4K and HDR, and have WiFi6, Bluetooth 5.0 as well as 2GB Ram and 8GB eMMC flash memory. A new addition is the P510, a cost-optimized, compact IP set-top box. All models offer maximum energy efficiency, both in operation and in standby.

With all models of the P500 series, end customers receive a future-proof IPTV product with an intui-tive user interface, high user friendliness, premium content, an integrated video on demand service, nPVR, a recommendation service and access to popular media libraries and apps.

With the P500 set-top boxes, ocilion serves all common network infrastructures (HFC, FTTH, VDSL, OTT) and fulfills all network operator requirements. Like the previous generations, the series is per-fectly pre-integrated for ocilion’s on-premises and cloud IPTV solution for network operators as well as for the in-house IPTV solution.

Set-top boxes for all scenarios – network operators and in-house

The P520 IP is specially designed for use in a pure IP environment. With the P510 IP, ocilion offers a new, compact and cost-efficient variant with reduced features. Cable network operators can sup-ply DVB-C and IP in parallel via the P570 Hybrid with 4-way full band capturing DVB-C tuner and the P580 Hybrid CM with tuner and integrated cable modem. The P550 switch including Gigabit Ethernet switch and POE supply was developed for the in-house area in order to serve buildings with existing Ethernet cabling (hotels, hospitals, companies, etc.). With the exception of the more compact P510, the housing design remains the same as that of the P400 series and also carries the Red Dot Design Award 2020.

For the P500 family, ocilion has also created a standardised branding service to brand the set-top box and remote control in the design of the network operator – including the packaging with several basic and premium options. Customers are guided and accompanied through the entire branding process. The first models of the P500 family are already being delivered.
