Thursday, November 14th, 2024ocilion brings premium apps Prime Video and YouTube to its IPTV platform
ocilion is opening up access to seamlessly integrated premium apps on the current P500 set-top box series. The two streaming services Prime Video and YouTube are the first to be rolled out to ocilion’s network operator customers with immediate effect. End customers can now access the popular apps directly in the network operator’s familiar TV user interface. EWE is the first ocilion customer to have already activated the two apps with its ‘ZuhauseTV’ product.
With the media libraries already available (including ARD, ZDF, ZDFtivi, ProSieben) and various basic apps (including Kixi, LokalTV, Erotic TV), the IPTV specialist now offers a total of over 25 integrated services on its IPTV platform.
The ocilion P500 set-top boxes have received a software update to the new RDK operating system, which is characterised by a high degree of adaptability, independence and future-proofing.
Thomas Bichlmeir, Chief Product Officer at ocilion: ‘The launch of our premium apps represents a major milestone. With Prime Video and YouTube, we are bringing two fundamental services for viewers to our platform. Of course, we are already in talks with other streaming services to provide other premium apps on the ocilion IPTV platform. If we look at the analyses of the ‘Nielsen Survey: Media Usage in Germany, Spring 2024’ (p. 12 ff), we cover four of the five most used ‘onDemand video services’ on our platform with the media libraries of ARD and ZDF, and now with YouTube and Prime Video.’
