ATLANTA, Georgia, USA — Atlanta DTH, a globally active developer of cable, satellite, terrestrial and IP media related applications, announces a new addition to its product portfolio. The ATSC 3.0 Gateway allows ATSC-standard free-to-air television programs to be viewed on any smart TV receiver or portable device.

Housed in a compact low-profile unit designed to fit beneath or alongside a modern TV display panel, the ATSC 3.0 Gateway comes with a control app which provides on-screen access to a wide range of features. TV channels can be selected via a grid-style electronic program guide and watched live, paused for up to 60 minutes or rewound for up to 5 minutes. Synopsis information is accessible for all listed programs. Closed caption subtitles can be activated to support viewers with impaired hearing. Dual tuners plus a built-in Wi-Fi 5 transmitter enable simultaneous viewing of the preselected channel or a second channel on mobile computers, electronic notepads or smart phones.

Compatible with both ATSC 1.0 and latest-generation ATSC 3.0 transmission standards, the ATSC 3.0 Gateway connects easil to an incoming antenna feed. It is equipped with four rear-mounted ports: a coaxial antenna input, a 10/100 Ethernet input for direct internet sourcing, a USB 2.0 output to the smart TV, and a DC power input. The receiver comes complete with a mains power adapter.

ATSC services are accessible across many areas of the USA, Canada, Mexico and South Korea. They were recently adopted for Jamaica and have been recommended for Brazil. ATSC 1.0 is based on a 19.4 Mbps bit rate and 8VSB modulation to allow 1080-line HD and 525-line SD multicasting. ATSC 3.0 is based on data rates of up to 36 Mbps and OFDM modulation to support t2160p60 UHD and HD multicasting.

Available now, the ADTH ATSC 3.0 Gateway will make its first appearance on ADTH booth W7903 at the April 2022 NAB Show in Las Vegas.
