Actus Digital Unveils Actus RVM Remote Video Monitoring for MVPDs at the 2022 NAB Show
- Actus RVM Offers MVPDs a Single Interface for Troubleshooting Post-STB QoS Issues and Performing Ad Verification on Geographically Dispersed Channels
BOSTON — Actus Digital, the premiere quality monitoring and alerting, compliance logging, content repurposing, and workflow solution company, announced today the launch of Actus RVM (Remote Video Monitoring), a new quality assurance solution for multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs). Actus RVM allows MVPDs to gain unique, real-time insights into their viewers’ quality of service (QoS), verify local ad insertion and timing, and ensure that television service operations are running smoothly. Actus RVM is based on Actus Digital’s intelligent monitoring platform, which has been successfully deployed by over 600 broadcasters, television networks, and teleport sites around the globe.
“There are a growing number of quality assurance tools for MVPDs but none of them offer visibility into viewers’ video quality once the content reaches the set-top box,” said Keith DesRosiers, vice president of solutions engineering at Actus Digital. “Actus RVM fills this critical gap, giving MVPDs a lens into television service quality post-STB. With Actus RVM, our customers can remotely view the QoS for any channel at any location and collaborate with their team to quickly remedy any issues.”
Actus RVM enables MVPDs to remotely connect to STBs at headends and hub sites to examine one channel at a time or the entire channel lineup via multiviewer monitoring, penalty box viewing, and proactive QoS alerts. When Actus RVM is deployed at multiple probe points and/or in multiple locations, the Actus Synchro feature shows how widespread an issue is and pinpoints the exact location it entered the video distribution workflow.
Actus RVM, with powerful 24/7 proactive monitoring and recording, alerts MVPDs when channels violate the parameters set for acceptable quality. This allows operators to rapidly identify, diagnose, and resolve QoS problems without costly truck rolls.
Actus RVM is available on version 8 of the company’s intelligent monitoring platform and will be demonstrated at the 2022 NAB Show, April 24-27 in Las Vegas in booth C2331.
