Rakuten TV now available via Zattoo on 1&1

LONDON — 1&1, one of the leading telecommunications providers in Germany, has launched its own video-on-demand service: ‘1&1 Cinema’. The new service has been launched via Zattoo, in partnership with Rakuten TV – one of the leading streaming platforms in Europe. The broadband customers of the telecommunications provider 1&1 can use the new Video on Demand (VoD) service ‘1&1 Cinema’ enjoying free content as well as premium content for rental or buy.

Zattoo, Europe’s leading Swiss TV-as-a-Service platform has integrated Rakuten TV’s TVoD (Transactional Video on Demand) into the Zattoo-developed white label TV platform of 1&1. The new ‘1&1 Cinema’ offering is marketed together with the ‘1&1 IPTV’ offering that has been awarded in this year’s prestigious German IPTV platform test IMTEST 2023. 1&1 Broadband customers can choose more than 6,000 titles, including big blockbusters (which can be enjoyed shortly after been shown in cinemas) as well as classic movies. The partnership with Rakuten TV enables Zattoo to further expand their TV-as-a-Service offering for B2B users as a “one-stop shop” including third-party apps for premium video content.
