STOCKHOLM, Sweden — Tilgin (STO:TILG), a leading provider of solutions for multiplay and next-generation broadband services and Nordija, an independent software vendor (ISV) developing middleware for IPTV environments, today announce their collaboration to provide a HD IPTV solution to the Danish leading utility company TRE-FOR with reference to Tilgin’s earlier announcement in August on an IPTV order from an influential Danish utility company.

Together Tilgin and Nordija will provide a unique IPTV solution to their joint customer TRE-FOR, who has decided to deliver HD (High Definition) IPTV to its subscriber base. Nordija has been contracted by the Danish operator’s broadband subsidiary to provide IPTV middleware with additional adaptation to their requirements based on their choice of Tilgin’s IP Set-top media center. Tilgin will provide its HD IPTV set-top solution, including its IPTV server software for large-scale IP networks, named MBS.

TRE-FOR is one of Denmark’s largest utility companies and the main supplier of electricity, water and heating in the Danish Triangle Region. The broadband activities are organized in TRE-FOR Bredband A/S and branded as Profiber in cooperation with other utility companies NRGi and Ostjysk Energi. The product range of TRE-FOR Profiber includes high speed Internet, attractive TV programs and low-cost telephony on an optical fiber network. TRE-FOR Bredband has a current client base of approximately 140,000 residential homes with the option to supply multi-play services to another 260,000 residential homes through the NRGi and Ostjysk Energi networks.

“In our common TRE-FOR Profiber project our companies have come very close and shown the potential to cooperate on similar IPTV projects”, says Bille Madsen ITV Manager at Nordija. “This collaboration will strengthen the value proposition for both parties and will be extended to other customers and deployments around Europe and the Middle East”.

“To partner with Nordija gives us better reach in Denmark and outside Scandinavia and at the same time a comprehensive offering to Danish operators wanting to bring the advantages of next generation broadband to its users”, says Ola Berglund, CEO at Tilgin. “There are a number of similar fiber network operators all owned by regional utility companies in Denmark and we hope TRE-FOR’s HD choice and our collaboration with Nordija will open up for further discussions with the other utility-owned networks”.
