- Content providers realize increased viewer engagement and experiences with Amagi and Applicaster
NEW YORK — Amagi, the global leader in cloud-based SaaS technology for broadcast and connected TV (CTV), and Applicaster, a world leader in SaaS solutions for video distribution, have announced the next phase of their integrated solution to drive distribution, monetization, and customer engagement.
This enhanced direct integration between Amagi and Applicaster includes support for linear, VOD, and single live events in the same app experience and extends to content personalization with customized EPG channel lineups, content swim lanes, and carousels based on viewer profiles and language preferences. With the addition of seamlessly supporting different content types, in conjunction with tools for improving content discoverability, content service providers have everything they need to provide a differentiated experience to their viewers.
Launching a new streaming app is often complex, time-consuming, and costly for content providers. Ensuring consistent UI/UX across platforms, integrating with players and CMS, and managing code for web, mobile, and Connected TVs requires ongoing maintenance. Additionally, industry challenges like content discoverability, interactivity, and personalization depend on effective metadata management and the capabilities of the technology partner.
The integration with Applicaster has resolved these challenges, enabling Amagi to aggregate metadata from both internal and external sources and seamlessly present it via comprehensive APIs directly to the Applicaster Zapp interface. This direct integration between the content technology provider and the app provider has removed all of the heavy lifting from the content provider and, therefore, enables a quicker time-to-market with reduced overhead and benefits from an enhanced viewer experience with content personalization features and interactive playback capabilities. Applicaster’s industry experience and unique no-code app development & management platform also allow for greater viewership reach, with the ability to deploy on Web, Android, iOS, Connected & Smart TVs, Roku, and FireTV.
“Amagi is excited with this partnership with Applicaster,” says Scott Cunningham, Vice President of Streaming TV Products at Amagi, “The real-time API interactions with Applicaster enable Amagi to provide complete personalization of the experience from one viewer to another. This personalization could be based on viewer preferences, watch history, geographic location, or language preferences. Furthermore, our investments in stream personalization technology, including Zero Slate and program start over and skipping capabilities, all drive towards increased viewer engagement”
“This recent expansion of the Amagi solution’s content management capabilities in combination with our distribution platform will drive significant value to our joint customers looking for robust, unified, and extensive management capabilities of their Direct-to-Consumer strategy,” says Jonathan Laor, President & Co-founder at Applicaster. “This joint solution reduces cost, time-to-market, and resources while enhancing operational control, monetization, and efficiency. It also allows businesses to manage and stream VOD and other video assets through the same apps, driving revenue, brand loyalty, and audience growth.”
Securing multiple award nominations for its customers across IBC Innovation Awards, CSI Awards and BaM Awards at this year’s show, Amagi is pushing the boundaries of cloud broadcast excellence.
Amagi provides a complete suite of channel creation, distribution, and monetization solutions. The company’s clients include some of the world’s biggest names, including A+E Networks UK, ABS-CBN, Astro, Cox Media Group, DAZN, Globo, Lionsgate Studio, NBCUniversal, Tastemade, and VIZIO.
