TeNeT connects with its customers via Appear TV's IPTV platform

Appear TV’s advanced architecture, features and flexibility cited as key differentiators in comparison with the competition

OSLO, Norway & KIEV, Ukraine — At the opening of the Eastern Europe Broadcasting Convention 2008 in Kiev, Ukraine, Appear TV, a global provider of next-generation head-ends for broadcast and IP television, and DEPS, an Appear TV regional partner specializing in telecommunications infrastructure and broadcast television systems, are pleased to announce the selection of Appear TV’s SC2000 system as the new TeNeT IPTV head-end.

The largest internet service provider in Odessa, TeNeT owns and operates a fiber optic network connecting Odessa to other cities in the region, and delivers broadband services to more than 20,000 subscribers via Metro Ethernet, xDSL and an extensive Wi-Fi network. TeNeT has been operating initial IPTV services in Odessa and, as the next step towards launching a commercial service, has chosen to upgrade the company’s IPTV head-end to an Appear TV SC2000.

“After assessing the products available on the marketplace followed by in-house testing, TeNeT engineers preferred the Appear TV SC2000 to the competition,” commented Alexander Linets, Senior Sales Manager of DEPS. “We expect the advanced architecture, features and flexibility of the SC2000 to provide a strong platform for TeNeT’s IPTV services.”
