MOSCOW, Russia — NEOTION, a leading provider of highly sophisticated MPEG-4 processors, also reputed for its expertise and numerous patents in designing new generation cryptographic System-on-a-Chip, has been selected by NTV-PLUS to co-develop with them a dedicated silicon comprising advanced proprietary descrambling engines capable of securing valuable content that could then be monetized over time.

NTV-PLUS clearly aims to take a leading stakeholder role, and hence laid out the fundamental need to create a specifically tailored silicon based technology capable of satisfying the challenges of such a massive market rollout. Along these lines, NTV-PLUS has decided to foster the design of a custom chipset based platform capable of combining state of the art MPEG-4 Technology, as well as newer advanced proprietary secured descrambling mechanisms and crypto ciphers. Now with over 1.5 million satellite viewers, NTV-PLUS is going to massively engage into a new ambitious project aiming at reinforcing the national plan for Digital TV Switchover that shall be completed by and before 2015. “Between 2009 and 2011, NTV-PLUS ambitions to deploy up to 20 million systems using such wallgarden technology that we desire to develop our partner NEOTION” said Mr Dmitry Samokhin, chairman of NTV-PLUS.

“We are indeed greatly honored and so excited about this fantastic project which the whole Management Team and Board of Directors are fully committed to successfully execute” added Mr Loic BERNARD, Chairman & CEO of NEOTION.

Cooperation with NTV-PLUS and participation in the biggest broadcasting project opens a new page in Neotion history towards developing new security solutions and enforce its position as a worldwide leader. The new silicon specification is to be ready by May 1st 2009 and NTV-PLUS is to recommend the solution to the project players.
