Wipro Delivers Middleware for In-Car TV Tuner to Hirschmann Car Communication

BANGALORE, India — Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro Limited (NYSE:WIT) today announced that it has delivered its Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting – Terrestrial (ISDB-T) stack to Hirschmann Car Communication GmbH. Hirschmann is a world leader in hybrid TV tuners for reception of terrestrial broadcast analog television broadcasts as well as DVB-T programs. The stack would be used for developing In-Car TV solution for its Tier-1 Car customers targeting Japanese market.
“Hirschmann has been a key supplier of TV tuner solutions to major German automobile manufacturers. With this In-Car TV solution, we are looking to extend this leadership position even for the Japanese market,” stated Dirk Wendt, head of business unit TV-Systems Hirschmann Car Communication GmbH. “The engagement with Wipro for ISDB-T solution was in line with our strategic requirement to have a strong technology partner to meet the challenging Japanese In-Car TV market.”
