LAS VEGAS, Nevada — CES — AMIMON, the market leader in wireless HDTV semiconductor solutions, and Hisense, China’s leading consumer electronics and appliance brand, announced today that they have joined forces to offer wireless HDTVs powered by AMIMON’s WHDI technology in China.
AMIMON’s WHDI technology enables wireless delivery of uncompressed HDTV throughout the home with less than one millisecond latency and with wired-equivalent quality.
“We have evaluated several wireless technologies and have found AMIMON’s technology to be the only one with the maturity and robustness required for consumer products,” said Dr. Teiji Okamoto, vice general manager at Hisense. “The robustness and quality of AMIMON’s solution make it the ideal choice for wireless HDTV connections within the room and throughout the home.”
“With over 100,000 chipsets sold in 2008 and wireless HDTVs and video accessories based on AMIMON’s technology already shipping in Europe, Japan and the United States by leading consumer electronics brands, AMIMON’s technology has emerged as the technology of choice for wireless HDTV,” said Shimon Greenberg, AMIMON’s vice president of sales. “We are pleased to be working with Hisense to expand AMIMON’s technology global footprint to China’s fast-growing market.”
AMIMON’s WHDI technology, which is based on a revolutionary video-modem approach operating in the 5GHz unlicensed band, has been selected as a CES Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Award honoree in the “Enabling Technologies” product category. Demonstrations of products using AMIMON’s technology can be viewed at various locations in the Las Vegas Convention Center as well as at AMIMON’s suite, No. 23121 at the Las Vegas Hilton.
