Leading hybrid silicon tuner solution delivers highly integrated feature set to enhance multimedia experience for audiences worldwide

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Xceive, the market leader in worldwide multi-standard RF-to-baseband silicon tuner ICs for the digital home market, announced today that Mele, a leading manufacturer of multimedia centers, selected Xceive’s XC5000 hybrid silicon tuner for its new line of HMC-3915T and HMC-S01BT personal video recorders (PVR). Targeted to European markets, these products are now being manufactured under the Emtec brand for use in its Movie Cube Q800, Movie Cube S800 and G-Movie Cube product lines.

As the world’s most highly integrated silicon tuner, Xceive’s XC5000 hybrid tuner features unsurpassed receiver sensitivity and video quality critical to the ultimate viewing experience. Featuring a superior feature set, the XC5000 is fully compliant with worldwide TV specifications such as Nordig v2.0 requirements for DVB-T and A/74 requirements for ATSC digital TV reception. The XC5000’s sharp video reception of analog and digital broadcasts complements the Mele PVR’s high-end features including 3D comb filter and high performance video scaler. With its unique advanced radio frequency design techniques combined with an on-board proprietary digital signal processor (DSP), the XC5000 delivers analog demodulation and digital bandpass filtering with no external SAW filters to deliver lower BOM cost and simplified system design.

With multi-format capabilities including DVD-quality recording of analog video, the new Mele PVRs features up to 1TB of disk space with a 3-in-1 card reader. Users will enjoy the time shift function and the ability to watch and record ATSC HD digital TV, analog TV or Clear QAM unencrypted digital cable TV in addition to playing movies, music and photos. With unmatched performance, high performance A/V reception and excellent receiver sensitivity, Xceive’s XC5000 rounds out the multimedia experience by ensuring sharp analog picture quality and digital HDTV signal reception at resolutions up to 1080i.
