Continued growth for COGECO despite the difficult economic climate

MONTREAL — Today, COGECO Inc. (TSX: CGO) has announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2009, ended November 30, 2008.

The Digital Television service net additions stood at 23,617 customers compared to 16,253 customers for the same period in the prior year due to targeted marketing initiatives in the second half of fiscal 2008 and in 2009 to improve market penetration and to the continuing strong interest for the HD Television service in Canadian operations, as well as the launch of the Digital Television service in Portugal (Cabovisão – Televisão por Cabo, S.A.) in the third quarter of fiscal 2008.
