SMiT successfully gains CI+ certification
Wednesday, March 25th, 2009SMiT (Shenzhen State Micro Technology), today announced that its CI+ Secure (SECURE PLUS) CAM has passed the CI+ certification from Digital TV Labs in UK, the official Test Center of CI Plus LLP.
SECURE PLUS CAM is a new generation Secure CAM, which is developed with compliance to CI Plus specification v1.1, and conditional access security requirements.
Compared with CI v1 CAM, SECURE PLUS CAM has the advantages such as more security for content, and friendlier user interface. It protects the content from piracy with CC protection while the stream flowing from CAM to Host. Besides advanced security, it can also support enhanced Application MMI (CI Plus Browser), CICAM Firmware Upgrade and CA PVR etc.
SMiT has been working actively in CI+ Secure CAM development with its iDTV partners. With frequent interoperability testing with other CI+ device manufacturer after long term cooperation, SMiT successfully achieved the CI+ certification under top priority.
Per the schedule, SMiT is going to introduce SECURE PLUS CAMs into market in Q2 and Q3.
