- Multiple next-generation set-top boxes will be delivered
SHENZHEN, China — Shenzhen Skyworth Digital Technology Co. LTD. (000810.SZ), a leading set-top box (STB) and smart home solutions provider, today announced its STBs will be used in a transformational project led by Dish Mexico.
Under the agreement, Skyworth Digital will supply multiple next-generation STBs, integrating its platform with top tier Conditional Access System (CAS) and middleware vendors, such as Inview.
The company has already seen significant success in the Latin America region, where it estimates it will ship 70,000 STBs a month.
“Skyworth Digital’s STBs have a proven track record of delivering efficient and reliable solutions for the Direct-to-Home (DTH) market which will benefit us and our viewers,” said Carlos Miranda Matzumoto, CTO at Dish Mexico. “We look forward to working with Skyworth Digital on this project which we hope marks the beginning of a long and fruitful partnership.”
The deal with Dish Mexico follows the opening of Skyworth Digital’s manufacturing facility in Guadalajara, Mexico, for the production of DTH and cable STBs.
“As one of the top DTH operators in Latin America, Dish Mexico is an important customer for us to add to our portfolio,” said Darrell Haber, Vice General Manager at Skyworth Digital. “We are pleased our state-of-the-art technology has been able to meet Dish’s needs for this project and even more delighted that we are able to do this from our factory in Guadalajara, boosting local employment and making the process extremely cost-efficient for our customer.”
