Broadband Demonstrations to Show Unified Delivery of Content to TVs, Desktops and Mobile Devices for Cable and IPTV Operators; Broadcast Demonstrations Highlight New Play-to-Air, Storage and Workflow Products

ACTON, Mass. — SeaChange International (NASDAQ: SEAC), the video-on-demand, IPTV, broadcast and advertising systems leader, will demonstrate at IBC 2009 (Sept. 11-15 in Amsterdam) readily deployable broadband and broadcast video solutions that enable television operators to more effectively and affordably manage, monetize and deliver content to consumers anytime, anywhere, on any device.

Product highlights in Stand 1.E30 include a demonstration of unified three-screen video delivery, which uses SeaChange’s TV Navigator middleware platform to show how cable and IPTV operators can seamlessly deliver video content to TVs, desktops and mobile devices, engaging subscribers across multiple screens while maintaining a common and consistent experience. The demonstration will show numerous personalized applications, customizable user interfaces and compatibility with a variety of set-top boxes.

SeaChange will also spotlight its Axiom on Demand open content delivery platform, the intelligence behind billions of on-demand streams delivered globally. Axiom software fully automates the intensive behind-the-scenes VOD processes from content propagation, to subscriber and stream management, to performance reporting and monitoring, while also serving as the foundation for adding SeaChange’s growing range of content navigation, gaming, DVD and ad targeting applications.

Also being highlighted at IBC is SeaChange’s AdPulse on demand advertising platform, another Axiom advantage that is shortlisted for accolades for its role in Virgin Media’s VOD advertising initiative, including the IBC Innovation Award for content delivery and the CSI Award for best content-on-demand solution.

Broadcast demonstrations will include breakthroughs for storage and file-based workflows. The Broadcast MediaLibrary 12000ex is the newest storage server to complement SeaChange’s widely deployed Broadcast MediaLibrary/MediaClient digital video platform. Scaleable from a single 10TB node up to an eight-node cluster with more than 70TB of storage, the BML12000ex is an affordable solution for broadcasters who require a play-to-air system that can easily and cost-effectively scale alongside the growth of their operation.

The MediaServer 1000 standalone multichannel ingest and playout server offers the renowned reliability of SeaChange storage servers with the flexibility of its software-based codecs in a compact footprint, effectively lowering the point of entry for broadcasters to gain the efficiencies of file-based workflows. Integrated software codecs natively support a broad range of popular tapeless formats, including Avid DNxHD, DV100, IMX and MPEG-2.

SeaChange systems have been on air in Europe for more than a decade, helping some of the continent’s leading cable, IPTV and broadcast operations such as Virgin Media, Mediaset and MTV among many others to reliably and efficiently deliver compelling content and high-quality services to millions of viewers.
