Mediaset plans internet TV service

In documents sent to potential suppliers, Mediaset has revealed plans to launch television via the internet from December 2009. Initially channels will be accessible only via a PC with a set-top box for TV viewing planned for 2010.
Mediaset plans to launch Mediaset Web TV in December 2009, with a premium service being added in March 2010. There are also plans for a video-on-demand offering.
In November 2010 the company intends to offer a Mediaset set-top box, produced and sold by third parties, for viewing the service directly on a television.
