Monday, April 12th, 2010NAB 2010 visitors can experience first-hand how Fuugo is making TV social again
LAS VEGAS, USA — Axel Technologies, a pioneer in mobile TV software technologies, introduces Fuugo™ to the NAB 2010 audience in Las Vegas this week. Since its launch in February, Fuugo™ has been updated with ATSC-M/H and Android capabilities making it more suitable for the US market.
Fuugo™ is the first TV application for personalizing a content stream by blending content choices from broadcast TV, mobile TV, Internet videos and social media. Fuugo™ is optimized for a range of mobile and portable devices enabling consumers to enjoy personalized TV content on-the-go. Fuugo™ has been designed with the end-user in mind making it the most user-friendly TV and Video application in the market.
Fuugo™ utilizes social media, recommendations, user metrics and various content sources for presentation of TV and video programs that match your favourites, your interests, and what your social network likes. Fuugo™ is the first product of this new converged TV and entertainment phenomenon called Telefusion.
“Social media has changed the landscape of traditional media, people no longer want to just watch traditional linear TV from their living rooms. They want to interact, watch online videos and chat with their friends, and preferably all at the same time. The problem, however, is that there is such a broad spectrum of content sources and tools to choose from. This is why we developed Fuugo. Our goal is to redefine television by simplifying the way people find video and TV content,” comments Petri Kalske, CEO of Axel Technologies.
Fuugo™ is designed to be a global product. It will support all the relevant broadcast and mobile TV standards for Americas, Europe and Asia. Fuugo™ is suitable for watching and managing local or recorded content as well as linear TV. It will suggest most relevant online content whenever the end-user is connected to the Internet, ensuring there is something good to watch all the time.
Fuugo™ will be opened for Beta testing in Q2 and will be commercially available on second half of 2010.
Axel Technologies will be demonstrating Fuugo™ at NAB in Las Vegas from 12th to 15th April 2010, in the Mobile DTV Pavilion, booth SU5217C.
