BET Networks’ Debra Lee and Mediacom’s Rocco Commisso to Co-Chair NCTA Annual Convention

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Keeping a commitment to return its annual national convention to New Orleans post-Katrina, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) announced today that The Cable Show ’08 is scheduled May 18-20, 2008 in the Big Easy. The 57th annual convention and international exposition, the cable industry’s premiere U.S. event, will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

The Cable Show ’08 will be co-chaired by Debra Lee, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, BET Networks, and Rocco B. Commisso, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mediacom Communications Corp.

NCTA’s annual trade show has a long and proud relationship with New Orleans, having been held there eight times during the course of the Show’s history. It was last scheduled to be held in New Orleans in the spring of 2006 but was re-located to Atlanta that year when New Orleans officials indicated they were still challenged in accommodating large trade shows while working to recover from the effects of Hurricane Katrina.

“We have many wonderful memories from NCTA conventions in New Orleans over the years,” said Lee. “We plan to make The Cable Show ’08 another great event while giving back to the city and the people that have played a part in our industry’s growth.”

As part of the Cable Show ’08 agenda, NCTA is planning a slate of activities and opportunities for cable industry companies and their executives to further assist in recovery and rebuilding efforts, said Commisso and Lee.

“While the recovery of New Orleans is still under way, the city is more than ready to host another outstanding cable convention. We’re looking forward not only to participating in the city’s rejuvenation, but also to enjoying all that a revitalized New Orleans has to offer,” Commisso said.

Exhibit space for The Cable Show ’08 is now available. Applications are due October 5, 2007, for the first round of booth assignments. For more information, call NCTA Convention Headquarters at (202) 463-7905 or e-mail exhibitinfo@ncta.com.
