Harmonic to Demonstrate Cable Solutions and Introduce New Scalable Node at ANGA 2010

Featured Demonstrations at European Cable Exhibition to Include Encoding, Transcoding, Edge and Access Solutions for Real-Time, On-Demand and Multi-Screen Applications

SUNNYVALE, CA — At ANGA Cable 2010 stand #H39, Harmonic Inc. (NASDAQ: HLIT) will demonstrate its comprehensive portfolio of video delivery solutions for cable video service providers, and introduce the world’s smallest 4×4 scalable node, ideal for forward and return path segmentation. Harmonic’s edge, HFC access and digital video processing solutions are deployed by operators around the world for real-time, on-demand and converged multi-screen services delivered to TVs, PCs and mobile devices. The ANGA conference and exhibition, taking place in Cologne, Germany from May 4-6, is Europe’s leading cable industry event.

Key demonstrations at Harmonic’s stand will include:

  • Harmonic’s highly efficient HFC access solutions: A new PWRBlazer™ node — the world’s smallest 4×4 segmentable platform — will be introduced at ANGA. Harmonic will also feature the SUPRALink™ 1550 nm WDM transmission platform that extends reach and lowers the cost of the access network.
  • TV Everywhere solution: Deployed by leading service providers around the world, Harmonic’s MediaPrism™ Convergence Suite for content ingest, transformation, distribution and delivery to any device (TV, PC and mobile) will be on display.
  • Market-leading digital video processing solutions: Visitors can experience superior quality high definition video with the Electra® 8000 MPEG-2/AVC HD/SD universal encoder. The ProStream™ 1000 stream processing platform with ACE™ any-to-any transcoding for up to 20 HD or 80 SD channels in 1-RU, and the ProView™ 7000 integrated receiver/decoder will also be featured on the stand.
  • Ultra-dense and versatile universal edgeQAM: The leading edgeQAM in the industry, Harmonic’s NSG™ 9000, supports VOD, broadcast, cable IPTV, modular CMTS, DOCSIS 3.0, switched digital video (SDV), and edge encryption. At ANGA, Harmonic will showcase the NSG’s versatility for narrowcast and broadcast applications and its advanced software toolset.
