Ericsson to upgrade network of Cable Tica in Costa Rica

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) has signed a five-year contract with cable television operator Cable Tica of Costa Rica to build and operate its next generation optical fibre backbone network.
The network will be built using Ericsson’s MHL 3000 and 1410 OMS networking products and will allow Cable Tica to transport any kind of data – including television, internet and mobile backhaul – as well as allow for future deployment of IPTV.
Cable Tica will be able to offer additional services, such as digital television, video-on-demand and data services, to more areas of Costa Rica.
