Amino Communications (LSE AIM: AMO), the world leading IPTV specialist, has secured a contract to provide the Lenox Municipal Utilities communications system with a range of PVR set-top boxes to support the rollout of IPTV services.

Lenox Municipal Utilities provides power, water, and broadband to their community in Iowa. Initially, the company will deploy Amino’s A530 PVR set-top boxes to support a rollout of new IPTV-based entertainment services.

The A530 offers both standard and high definition performance plus a personal video recording function that allows pause, rewind, and a range of trickplay services.

Lenox Municipal Utilities General Manager Keith Bennett stated, “We selected Amino after carefully considering a range of providers for this important service rollout to the community we serve. It was important that we secure a partner who provided more than just services. We were seeking a partner who would work with us in ensuring a smooth deployment to our customers, and we are delighted to work with Amino on this successful phase in our rollout.”

Amino VP Sales North America Dan Carufel added, “We have built a strong working relationship with Lenox Municipal Utilities–providing technical and customer support to ensure all deployment deadlines are met. We look forward to working with them on the next phase of their rollout and helping them provide the best in entertainment services to their customers.”

Lenox Municipal Utilities was founded in 1913 as a water provider for the City of Lenox. They later added power and communications services to the services that they provide for the citizens of the city.
