Amino Communications (LSE AIM: AMO), the world-leading IPTV specialist, has secured a contract with Oregon-based Canby Telcom to provide a range of high definition IPTV set-top boxes.

Following a competitive pitch, Canby Telcom selected Amino to partner in the continued rollout of entertainment services to its 7,000-strong customer base and 9,000 access lines. Initially, the company will deploy Amino’s A130 and A530 PVR set-top boxes with a planned migration to next generation A140/A540 devices in the next 12 months.

Amino’s new A140 and A540 PVR set-top boxes are based on the latest STi7105 System on Chip (SoC) solutions and are now available in the US market.

Canby Telcom’s Brandon Zupancic said: “We were seeking a partner for the deployment of our IPTV services who could demonstrate a clear development path with its products that would ensure our customers enjoyed the best possible user experience. Initial deployments of A530 DVR boxes have been very well-received, and we look forward to working with Amino as we continue to deliver IPTV services to our customers.”

Amino’s Chief Executive Officer Andrew Burke added: “This was a very competitive pitch, where our products had to really prove themselves both technically and also in terms of end user satisfaction. Working closely with Canby, we were able to demonstrate a clear roadmap for our current and future products and are delighted to have secured this important contract.”

Founded in 1904 as the Macksburg Mutual Telephone Association, becoming the Canby Telephone Association, dba Canby Telcom two years later, Canby Telcom now serves over 7,000 customers across 84 square miles of Oregon.
