France - ARCEP Q2 Commmunications Market Update
Wednesday, October 31st, 2007Figures for the second quarter 2007 have been published.
- VoIP: At June 30, 2007, over 20% of telephone subscriptions (8.7 million subscriptions) were VoIP. In addition, 30.3% of fixed telephone traffic was passed as VoIP.
- Internet: Broadband now represents 90% of subscriptions and revenues.
- Mobile-Portability: growth of 55.9% over the year with 154,400 mobile numbers ported from one operator to another in Q2 2007. An increase which is due in part to the establishment, on May 21, 2007, of procedures to allow mobile number portability in ten days.
- Television-over-ADSL: With more than two million subscriptions added in a year, France had 3.8 million subscriptions to a television service via xDSL at the end of Q2 2007.
