PARIS — Viaccess (Paris: FTE; NYSE: FTE), leader in conditional access and DRM systems, announced today that SFR (Paris:VIV) has selected its advanced content protection and rights management solutions for protecting SFR’s new high definition TV offering on satellite.
SFR is the second largest French telecommunications operator, with 20.5 million mobile customers, including 15.3 subscribers, and 4.6 million broadband Internet households at end of June 2010. SFR’s goal to create a new world of communications led it to offer its presence on all screens; mobile, PC, television etc. The company has launched the service in the beginning of February 2011, and will offer access to high definition TV content over satellite using Viaccess’ latest content protection solution.
“Viaccess is proud to take part in advanced TV deployments and help operators broaden their service offering, opening up to additional markets and screens,” said François Moreau de Saint-Martin, Viaccess CEO. “More providers choose to rely on advanced technology and offer premium content and programming for an enhanced content experience.”
