- VO’s Secure Video Player Ensures Smooth Transition Between IPTV and OTT Content and Different Streaming Formats
PARIS — Viaccess-Orca (VO), a global leader providing OTT and TV platforms, content protection, and advanced data solutions, announced today that pay-TV operator Orange Polska is using VO’s Secure Video Player for IPTV and OTT streaming on Sagemcom high-end, new-generation set-top boxes (STBs). The VO Secure Video Player converges IPTV and OTT streams, allowing smooth transitions between live, time-shift TV, catch-up TV, and VOD content to ensure a superior-quality viewing experience for Orange Polska subscribers.
“We needed a state-of-the-art multiscreen video player that keeps viewers engaged,” said Piotr Wit, Director of Home Network at Orange Polska. “VO’s Secure Video Player is a game changer, allowing us to offer a unified experience to our subscribers across all screens — from the living room television set to mobile devices on the go.”
VO’s Secure Video Player is embedded in the Orange Polska application, rather than being pre-built into the STB middleware. This provides the operator better control over its video offerings while simplifying future evolutions of the service. The VO Player is integrated with multiple DRMs, including VO DRM, protecting Orange Polska’s content from abuse and hacking.
The VO Player monitors quality of experience, quality of service, and user behavior across TV screens, in compliance with content owners’ security requirements. The VO Player assures a seamless transition when viewers switch between IPTV and OTT, boosting satisfaction with the service.
“Offering a compelling video experience is critical for the success of OTT multiscreen services,” said Thomas Kohler, CEO at Viaccess-Orca. “Teaming up with Orange Polska, we’re empowering the delivery of world-class video streaming experiences that ensure subscriber satisfaction.”
