The Netherlands: Connected TV on the rise
Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012Netherlands, Consumer Electronics
The latest GfK retail data shows over 50% of all TV’s in Dutch households will be connected to the internet within two years.
Figures from the end of December 2011 reveal that 16% of all TV sets, approximately 1,118,000, in the Netherlands were equipped with connectivity features. Of these, 50% of consumers use this function.
While connectivity is a significant innovation within the Consumer Electronics industry, it is not the main selling point for customers – high picture quality, screen size and price remain the decisive factors when it comes to purchasing a new model.
The retail sales data for this news originates from GfK market research.
