DTT receiver sales top 60 million in Italy

According to the May newsletter from Italy’s DGTVi, the number of DTT receivers sold to-date in the country exceeded 60 million in March, with 2.1 million being sold in the first quarter of 2012.

Out of the receivers sold between January and March, 68% (1.4 million) were integrated digital TVs (IDTVs), 27% (about 550,000) were zapper set-top boxes (STBs) and the remaining 5% (108,000) were MHP STBs.

The number of DTT receivers sold since February 2004 reached 60,405,991 in March. Of these, 28.2 million were IDTVs, with the remaining 32.2 million being STBs.
