Latest Innovations in Multi-Screen and New Mobile Device TV Application Selected for CableLabs’ CableNet and the Cable Show’s Imagine Park

ACTON, Mass. — The Cable Show 2012 — Leveraging its hometown advantage at The Cable Show 2012 being held in Boston this year, leading global multi-screen video software innovator SeaChange International, Inc. (NASDAQ: SEAC) will demonstrate a range of cloud-based solutions for expanding cable services to serve tablets, smartphones, PCs and other devices; and will feature new innovations in multi-screen, advanced advertising, and mobile device TV applications. These innovations include a recommendation engine that finds, recommends and delivers personalized content to viewers via TV, PC or mobile, based on their profile, viewing behavior or inputs; TV ad targeting based on web browser activity; an exciting new application for watching TV shows via mobile devices called TV Marathon, and more.

“SeaChange is focused on creating innovative software solutions for TV Everywhere services on our Adrenalin back office, by monetizing every screen through Infusion and, moving deeper into the home, with our Nucleus gateway,” said Steven Davi, CTO, SeaChange. “We’ll also show how we continue to further improve operators’ and content owners’ ability to stay in front of subscribers with advanced applications.”

For example, SeaChange has been selected to participate in the App Pond, an industry showcase within The Cable Show’s Imagine Park for newly developed applications for tablets, smartphones, and other connected devices. SeaChange’s App Pond demonstration, the TV Marathon application for Android, gives TV series fans an exciting new approach to keeping up with their favorites. It will show how cable subscribers can use their tablets to conveniently track, manage and view episodic TV programs available through their cable provider and other streaming services.

SeaChange has also been selected to demonstrate its Nucleus soft box gateway and Nitro multi-screen user interface software on a smart television in the CableNet® technology exhibit area organized by CableLabs® and the NCTA.

Adrenalin is a complete web-centric back office for multi-screen services. Cable Show demonstrations will focus on TV Everywhere delivery to Apple, Android and Windows tablets, recommendations, and built-in content promotions and offer management through the SeaChange Business Management Suite. Using an open, service-oriented architecture, this next-generation solution lets video service operators of all sizes deliver tens of thousands of video assets to hundreds of device types across multiple networks with a consistently rich viewing experience.

Nucleus is the next generation software solution for supporting cable operators’ transition from QAM to IP video so they can offer subscribers multi-screen media sharing, whole-home DVR, access to apps and OTT content, using smart phones as remotes and much more.

As recently announced, SeaChange will also debut Nitro Now, its lightweight subscriber portal that dramatically enhances the industry’s deployed QAM-based set-top boxes with a subscriber interface that’s on par with other video-enabled devices, as well as newer and more advanced set-tops.

The SeaChange Infusion Advanced Advertising Platform demonstrations with a number of integrated technology partners will include demographic ad targeting across multiple devices and multi-screen TV ad targeting based on web browser activity. Leveraging SCTE 130 and IAB VAST specifications, Infusion empowers service providers to determine which external ad servicing systems are sourced for dynamic placement decisions, while creating opportunities for cross-platform campaigns and leveraging Internet campaign management pricing for TV content.
