CYBERJAYA — TIME dotCom Bhd (“TIME”), Malaysia’s fastest-growing fixed-line provider, and Cyberjaya master developer Setia Haruman Sdn Bhd today announced they will team up to introduce fibre connectivity to homes and offices in the country’s ICT hub that will transform Cyberjaya into the most-wired city in the nation.

TIME and Setia Haruman Technology Sdn Bhd (“SHTech”), a subsidiary of Setia Haruman, will collaborate to deploy 100% fibre-to-the-home and fibre-to-the-office services to more than 3,300 new homes and 1,400 offices for customers to enjoy up to 100Mbps broadband speeds and will also be able to subscribe Astro B.yond IPTV packages.

“For a long time, SMEs and homes in Cyberjaya never had an alternative choice of Internet, voice and IPTV service provider, now they can get Internet speeds of up to 100Mbps” said TIME’s Chief Executive Officer, Afzal Abdul Rahim. “By connecting our backbone to SHTech’s fibre network, we would be bringing true high speeds to Cyberjaya.”

The 7,000-acre Cyberjaya Flagship Zone (CFZ) is a self-contained intelligent city with world-class IT infrastructure, low-density urban enterprise, and state-of-the-art commercial, residential, enterprise and institutional developments.

Both TIME and SHTech stand to benefit from Cyberjaya’s expected rapid development. By 2022, Cyberjaya’s population is expected to swell to 210,000 people. Businesses are expected to employ up to 120,000 people and higher learning institutions will support 30,000 students.

“Setia Haruman Technology and TIME will help create the infrastructure to support Cyberjaya’s future needs,” said Rodzi Ahmad (General Manager of SHTech). “The collaboration couldn’t have come at a better time – we’ve been entrusted with the planning, designing and preparing Cyberjaya’s primary infrastructure. We’re killing two birds with one stone and with zero duplication of network, Cyberjaya gets fibre andpay-tv today, in one go.”

The TIME and SHTEch collaboration is yet another step toward transforming Cyberjaya into the knowledge centre of the region, and in line with its aim of becoming one of the top 20 most liveable and smartest cities in the world by the year 2020.
