LG Dacom Selects Alticast as Middleware Vendor IPTV Services
Seoul, Korea — LG Dacom recently announced its final selections for solution vendors for its IPTV digital media center.
The selected vendors are as follows:
- Middleware: Alticast; Headend: Tandberg; CAS: Verimatrix; VOD: Castis; Data Broadcasting System: Aircode
LG Dacom’s decision to go with Alticast’s GEM-IPTV middleware follows KT’s recent selection of Alticast solutions, and reinforces the quality and trust placed on Alticast for IPTV solutions.
The entire vendor composition is very similar to that of KT’s IPTV project, which will minimize technical differences and make implementation and integration a much simpler task.
LG Dacom will begin testing interoperability with IP STBs provided by LG Electronics, LG Nortel and Kaon Media which were previously selected in November 2006. The scheduled launch date for LG Dacom’s IPTV services is September 2007.
