Tuesday, July 16th, 2013Agama and Zenterio Partner for a Superior Video Service Quality Experience
LINKÖPING — Agama Technologies, the video service quality assurance expert and Zenterio, the independent operating system developer for TV client devices, announced today a technology partnership to deliver a turnkey solution for efficient last-mile and in-home video service quality assurance to joint TV operator customers worldwide. The partnership has already resulted in a new contract with a major European operator group, with delivery taking place in December.
The integration of Agama’s renowned Embedded Monitoring Solution with Zenterio’s unique software platform for interactive TV, Zenterio OS, allows TV operators to extend their Agama real-time 24/7 monitoring and QA into the subscribers’ Zenterio powered devices within the home. This ensures service quality throughout the end-to-end video delivery chain, from the head-end down to the viewing device.
“Agama is an exciting addition to the range of leading technology providers that are working to strengthen our advanced digital TV set-top box software solutions,” says Marco Frattolin, Head of Product Management at Zenterio. “This partnership between Agama and Zenterio facilitates a quick and straightforward deployment that allows TV operators to immediately establish proactive management of service quality and customer satisfaction, which ultimately enables accelerated growth and profitability with strengthened customer loyalty.”
Johan Görsjö, Director of Product Management at Agama Technologies, adds: “We take pride in delivering superior quality assurance solutions to our customers, tailored to their specific environments and needs. We’re delighted, therefore, to now be partnering and integrating with Zenterio, enabling us to provide truly complete end-to-end monitoring solutions to all our mutual customers.”
Key features of the Zenterio OS include:
- True independence for the operator – with Zenterio OS, operators are free to focus on service development as an independent business driver, rather than staying locked in by their current ecosystem’s limitations.
- Improved performance – the modular capability of Zenterio has an extremely strong reputation in providing world class performing software. This focus on performance has always been at the core of each new generation of the Zenterio OS, enabling the operator to make the most out of the hardware they deploy.
- Replacement of existing software – Zenterio OS can be deployed not only on new set-top boxes, but also to the base of boxes already in use by the operator’s customers. Zenterio can, through a unique offering called ‘swap-out’, remotely replace proprietary operating systems that are already in use.
The Agama Embedded Monitoring Solution forms a crucial link in monitoring service quality in a video delivery chain. It performs continuous and stateful monitoring of service QoE, QoS, usage, and system health for IPTV, broadcast and OTT set-top boxes, PC media players, tablets, smart phones, residential gateways and similar devices. High scalability allows for many millions of customer devices to be continuously and concurrently monitored in real-time; and, the solution enables operators to systematically manage service quality, raise operational efficiency, and increase customer satisfaction.
