Egatel key player at the opening of the first DTT transmissions in Los Andes region
- The Telecommunications Department thanks Egatel their support during the implementation of this project
Egatel has provided a 300W UHF TV ISDB-Tb Digital Transmitter, model TE9301, and has contributed to its put on service.
With this trial Egatel supports the Subtel ongoing digitization of television in the country, allowing to show the advantages of DTT versus conventional analog television, at a time which is finishing the regulation process.
The model and transmitter power was selected considering a network design based on medium power compact equipment. This is the optimal configuration for implementing the Digital Television along the extensive Chilean geography.
The opening ceremony of the free-to-air Digital TV services in the Andes city was on past 13th December. The hosts of this event were D. Matias Palau, from the Telecommunication Department of the Chilean Government, and D. José Andrés Gálvez Valenzuela, General Manager of VTV Valley Television. Both of them thanked Egatel for its support.
