SHANGHAI, China — RDA Microelectronics, Inc. (Nasdaq:RDA) (“RDA” or the “Company”), a fabless semiconductor company that designs, develops and markets wireless systems-on-chip and radio-frequency (RF) semiconductors for cellular, connectivity and broadcast applications, today announced sampling of its RDA5880N, a fully integrated RF front-end tuner IC supporting all worldwide terrestrial and cable TV standards, including DVB-T/T2, ISDBT, ATSC, DTMB, and DVBC.

The RDA5880N tuner operates in the 40-870MHz frequency range and offers excellent phase noise and low implementation loss, which is required for advanced modulation systems. The chip requires minimal external passive components, eliminating the need for a low-noise amplifier, tracking filters or SAW filters. The RDA5880N’s fully integrated design is offered in a 40-pin 5×5 QFN package, saving valuable board space and simplifying RF layout.

“Leveraging RDA’s innovative design techniques, our latest digital TV tuner offers unmatched performance and design simplicity while further reducing footprint size,” said Shuran Wei, CEO of RDA Microelectronics. “This product represents RDA’s continued effort to further diversify our offerings into other non-handset markets. The digital TV market is a large and growing market that aligns well with our technical capabilities and customer base.”
