Octoshape and Altech Multimedia Partner for OTT/IPTV Services in the Middle East and Africa
- Partnership to offer entry into new markets and provide end-to-end high quality video delivery services
PHOENIX — Octoshape, an industry leader in cloud-based, over-the-top (OTT) stream acceleration and contribution technologies for broadcasters, enterprises and carriers, and South Africa-based Altech Multimedia, a high-technology multimedia solutions group focused on the convergence of broadband and broadcast technologies, announced today that they have entered into a partnership to offer video contribution and distribution solutions to major broadcasters and operators in the Middle East and Africa.
Given the rapidly growing consumption of Internet video across connected devices, broadcasters and others increasingly require a carrier-grade, flexible, OTT solution that meets their quality, scale and cost requirements. Under the agreement, which further expands the Octoshape footprint to include the fast-growing South African market, broadcasters and operators gain access to Octoshape’s full suite of cloud-based OTT/IPTV video streaming services. In addition, Altech Multimedia’s superior regional expertise and pre-existing relationships will serve to facilitate and expedite service localization and expansion.
“South Africa, and the surrounding African and Middle Eastern countries, represent a significant market opportunity for multiscreen content delivery,” said Michael Koehn Milland, CEO of Octoshape. “In partnership with Altech Multimedia, we have additional in-region expertise and cultural skills needed to surpass our customers’ video delivery expansion objectives.”
“Our customers recognize how complex it can be to transition to a broadband TV distribution model,” said Paulo Caldeira, Senior Sales Manager at Altech Multimedia. “The combined synergies between Altech Multimedia’s multimedia technologies and Octoshape’s innovative delivery network will simplify their transition while also ensuring a superior viewing experience guaranteed to exceed their expectations.”
