Oberthur Technologies and Irdeto Demonstrate Innovation in Mobile TV

Companies Complete Full System Interoperability Test at Recent OMA BCAST Test Fest

Barcelona, Spain – Mobile World Congress 2008 — Irdeto (JSE: NPN), the proven expert in content security for digital TV, IPTV and mobile, and Oberthur Technologies, one of the leading smart card suppliers, completed successfully the demonstration of an end-to-end OMA BCAST Smart Card Profile interoperability test at the recent mobile TV Test Fest organized by the Open Mobile Alliance in Montreal, Canada (18-25 January 2008). The latest OMA BCAST Smart Card Profile, defined by OMA, has become one of the leading standards for SIM-based Service and Content Protection systems. As part of the demonstration, Oberthur Technologies’ Mobile TV Java Advanced 3G cards was tested against Irdeto’s head-end equipment and client software. The joint solution was verified to be in full compliance with the OMA BCAST Smart Card Profile specifications.
