SAINT MARTIN D’HÈRES — Neotion is demonstrating at the IBC2015 their newest version of the NeoHome Gateway “Advanced” which is based on DVBeacon architecture offering Home Automation capabilities. This version is a TV headless gateway allowing the distribution of linear and recorded content over the home network as well as Smart Home services.
NeoHome is the new set of home automation applications and devices announced this year by Neotion. Installed on the Neotion Gateways, this Em-Sys Media-OS module enables TV operators to enlarge their services offer to consumers.
By 2014, Neotion selected the Media-OS, the TV Operating System from Em-Sys for the DVBeacon, the Neotion’s DVB to IP product. Neotion maintained this successful collaboration by integrating the Media Os in the NeoHome Gateway presented this year at the IBC. This solution allows Neohome Gateways combining both Home Automation and Entertainment services in one unique application running on all different home screens Media-OS has proven to be the adequate solution for Neotion. Its modular architecture allowed a quick and robust integration of different services, TV, OTT, PVR as well as Security, Safety and Lighting services accessible on one single Application from any screens – TV, Smart Phone Tablets and PC at home or remotely.
With the Media-UI SDK provided by Em-Sys, SmartHome application and user interface can be embedded into the Media Gateway multiscreen environment. Media-OS requires small memory foot print and minimum processing power enabling Neotion to offer multi-services gateway at optimised costs.
Neotion’s Chief Technology Officer, Christophe Genevois stated: “Thanks to Media-OS open architecture, we can offer to our customers the capability to provide a set of Smart Home services on top of media content delivery. The robustness of the solution associated to the flexibility provided by Media-OS allow to many TV and services operators to add and deploy new services with great confidence”.
