Sisvel to provide patent pool for DVB-SIS

The DVB Project has announced that the companies that took part in its process to create a licensing program for patents essential to DVB-SIS have chosen Sisvel to manage the formation of the patent pool.

DVB-SIS is a specification that covers terrestrial retransmission of signals sent to direct-to-home (DTH) satellite receivers. SIS stands for Single Illumination System, referring to the fact that a single satellite beam is used for both DTH and to feed terrestrial networks.
