Hibox provides TV platform for DNA's next-generation TV service
Tuesday, September 10th, 2019
DNA’s next-generation TV service will use the Hibox Aura platform as the base for all video applications. With ready-to-use integrations and mature APIs, the platform allows application developers to easily build and deploy video applications on multiple devices.
DNA TV will offer an innovative program-centric approach, allowing subscribers to view and record TV programs with unprecedented ease of use. Furthermore, the service will provide the users with compelling content recommendations based on their viewing preferences.
“It is a pleasure to work with the people at Hibox and the Aura platform. Development is straightforward, efficient and predictable. The platform has many of the features we need built-in, making the development fairly incremental, which then helps to improve the quality and pace of development as well as budgeting,” says Pekka Jääskeläinen, who is responsible for the entertainment service platforms development at DNA Plc.
Staffan Granholm, CEO of Hibox, adds: “We are thrilled to work with DNA as they are pioneering a new type of TV service in Finland. With a crystal-clear focus on content discovery and ease of use we believe DNA will be able to offer a totally new TV experience to its TV subscribers.”
DNA will also use the Hibox Aura platform for real-time app configuration and content management. This means that DNA can easily make real-time modifications to promote popular content to the subscribers.
