Sweden - Slight fall for Boxer in Q2
Thursday, July 3rd, 2008
On 30 June, Boxer had 701,000 digital TV subscribers, a fall of 8,000 during the second quarter this year, but still 23,000 more than on the same date last year.
“Competition in the Swedish pay-TV market is becoming tougher and tougher, not least since Telia launched IPTV (TV via the broadband network) on a large scale. The most important consideration for Boxer at the present time is that we can develop the terrestrial network using new technology and offer program packages which give even more value for money, and that we can grow in new markets,” says Per Norman, MD for Boxer.
At the end of March, Boxer was appointed pay-TV operator for the Danish digital TV network, a market where terrestrially broadcast digital pay-TV has not previously been available.
