TeraVolt wins ZDF budget for further development of the TV media library
HAMBURG — German TV network ZDF awards the budget for the technical development of its HbbTV and Smart TV media library to TeraVolt. The Hamburg-based agency for digital TV products has thus prevailed in a Europe-wide tender.
TeraVolt is to optimize the ZDF Mediathek primarily for HbbTV and Smart TV portals and selected platforms such as MagentaTV (Telekom) or Sky. Constant further development is also necessary because ZDF has gained more and more users via Smart TVs in recent years.
“ZDF plays in the top league of German television, and we are proud to be part of the team ourselves now,” says Tobias Fröhlich, founder and Managing Director at TeraVolt. “We are looking forward to this exciting task and new challenges. At ZDF, we see many opportunities to promote further innovation and the intermeshing of linear television and video-on-demand”.
The ZDFmediathek offers content from ZDF’s main program, the digital channels ZDFneo and ZDFinfo, the children’s program ZDFtivi and selected partners such as 3Sat and funk. The Mediathek also offers extensive live streaming services and the latest “heute” news.
