More than 10 million requests for Telenet Digital TV in 2008
Thursday, July 31st, 2008MECHELEN — During its half-yearly press update about digital television, Telenet (Euronext Brussels: TNET) announced today that between 1 January 2008 and 31 July 2008 no less than 10 million video-on-demand (VOD) requests were received. Since the launch of Telenet Digital TV in 2005, a total of 26 million VOD transactions has been made, an absolute record.
At the same time, information was given about the restyled Telenet Digital TV service and it was once again emphasised that PRIME, Telenet’s subscription channel, would be available digitally throughout Flanders — from 1 August 2008, PRIME, Telenet Digital TV’s film and sports channel will also be made available in the Interkabel/INDI* area in digital version.
“At last, we can offer all Flemish viewers our full PRIME service in the best quality. Something which our PRIME customers in the Interkabel catchment area have been waiting for for a long time”, says Jo Van Gorp, Executive VP Marketing, enthusiastically. “Our range of films and our football offering in particular is much broader than what we could offer our customers until now.”
* INDI is the digital television platform of three Flemish utility companies Intergan, PBE and Infrax.
