REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — BigBand Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: BBND), a leading innovator in video networking and Digeo, a pioneer in high definition cable products, today announced that Digeo’s Moxi High Definition Digital Video Recorder (HD-DVR) will be integrated with BigBand’s switched digital video (SDV) solution. This interoperability should enable consumers to conveniently enjoy more HDTV and niche programming than ever before.

“We’re pleased to add BigBand’s outstanding SDV solution to our MOXI HD platform” said Greg Gudorf, chief executive officer for Digeo. “This will dramatically increase the amount of HD content that can be delivered to cable subscribers while enabling them to discover, experience and share high def entertainment”.

BigBand’s SDV solution will be deployed in conjunction with Digeo’s latest Moxi HD-DVR cable box. The Moxi HD-DVR is the newest product to feature the award-winning Moxi user interface which can now offer cable subscribers nearly twice the storage capacity of previous units.

“We’re delighted to integrate our SDV solution with Digeo’s award-winning Moxi platform,” said David Heard, BigBand’s chief operating officer. “This partnership is another way for service providers to meet consumers’ insatiable demand for more HD content.”

BigBand Networks has integrated, or is in the process of integrating, its switched digital video solution in Motorola, Cisco, and DVB conditional access systems, the only vendor, the company believes, that has demonstrated such versatility. BigBand switched digital video is interoperable with five electronic programming guides.
