Deutsche Telekom TV subscribers up 33,000 in Germany in 3Q 2021
Friday, November 12th, 2021Deutsche Telekom has published its results for the third quarter of 2021.
Germany
The number of broadband customers increased by 90,000 between July and September. Telekom is growing much faster than the market in this area. More than 70 percent or more than 10 million of Telekom’s broadband customers use fiber-optic-based products (FTTH, FTTC/vectoring). Almost 4 million customers are now using the television service MagentaTV. The company recorded an increase of 102 thousand in the number of TV customers compared with year-end 2020.
Europe
The TV and entertainment business had a total of 5.1 million customers as of September 30, 2021, up by a marginal 1.7 % compared with the end of the prior year. With both telecommunications providers and OTT players offering TV services, the TV market is already saturated in many countries of our segment.
